Good marketers know that they don’t know for sure. Testing is the key to learning and its the key to marketing success as well. Learning is all about behavioural change. You can tell when someone has learned something new, because that person’s behaviour (actions) will change.

The whole “Science of Marketing” and business is based on a “Test”. The best return on investment in sales and marketing come from testing. Small, safe tests will always reveal if you’re right or wrong. Don’t think you know it all – — let the market tell you by testing.

Testing doesn’t have to be expensive. It can be just taking a survey, or talking to an expert, or a similar company in another market. Anything you do on a large scale, you can first test on a small scale to gauge the results. Even if they aren’t definitive, they’ll be indicative.

One hour invested in testing saves 10-100 hours of work effort. testing gives you the highest profitable return.
